One piece. One conversation. One frame built here.

Dallas Frame & Gallery by Max is an independent framing studio owned and managed by Maxine Kijek Sims. The design starts with the object in front of us—not a preset package.

At the Cedar Springs gallery, Max works directly with clients to compare moulding, color, scale, and depth. The wall is a working library, with options for floaters, shadow boxes, mirrors, acrylic boxes, textiles, photographs, and objects.

Every frame is designed and made on-site. Art and framing consultations are also available in the gallery or on location for residential and commercial projects.

Start with the piece. Pull from the wall. Build from there.

Clients often arrive with the artwork in hand and a sense of where it might live. At the design table, we compare profiles, color, scale, and depth until the frame supports the piece instead of competing with it.

The gallery carries Larson-Juhl, Studio, Monarch, Nielsen, and Crescent, backed by current archival materials and production techniques.

A signed Warhol, a child’s first painting, a jersey, a needlepoint, and a family photograph all ask for different solutions—but not different levels of care.

Already have a frame? Bring it. A framing makeover can keep what works and change what does not.

One moulding beside another. A wider profile against a quiet one. The choice becomes clear through comparison.

Piece. Place. Frame.

Maxine Sims arranging framed art

Maxine Sims Owner

Max believes every person and object carries a story. Her travels and conversations with artists have shaped a practice built around listening first—then finding the design that lets the piece speak clearly.

She earned a BSN from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Dallas, then combined her creative instincts and business experience to establish Dallas Frame & Gallery by Max. Three locations and thousands of frames later, the gallery remains grounded in personal service and the support of the Dallas community.

Max brings a collector’s curiosity, a practical design eye, and a deep respect for the things clients choose to keep.

DFG proudly supports different community organizations, foundations and charities. The foundation dearest to Max is the scholarship fund in memory of her precious son, The Conner Edward Maxwell Sims Endowment Fund.

Dewayne Shepherd Profile forthcoming

Temporary profile copy—final biography pending from Max.

Dewayne’s role, background, and experience are intentionally left unconfirmed in this preview. This space will be updated once Max provides and approves the final details.

Until then, the page reflects the gallery’s working philosophy: listen closely, consider the piece and its setting, then choose a frame that feels natural rather than imposed.

Good framing often leads to the next piece.

Much of the gallery’s work comes from returning clients—collectors, designers, schools, churches, organizations, and businesses across Dallas.
